How is it calculated?

A common reference is about 35 ml of water per kilo of body weight per day, plus extra if you exercise or it's hot. Water from teas, fruit and vegetables counts too.

Frequently asked questions

Does water help you lose weight?

It doesn't burn fat on its own, but drinking water keeps you full, cuts liquid calories and sometimes prevents overeating from mistaking thirst for hunger.

Do coffee and tea count?

Yes, they add to your hydration. Just watch the sugar you add.

Can I drink too much water?

In very large amounts it can be a problem, but it's rare. Drink throughout the day and let your thirst guide you too.
